The Night-Sky Contest

We are losing our view of the stars at night as big cities pollute the skies with their lights. Imagine what the sky would look like if all the lights in the world were turned off. Imagine how many stars could shine that would otherwise be blotted out by the haze created by city lights. This is a contest to raise awareness of this problem and help appreciate the beauty of the night sky. What do you think of when you imagine the perfect night sky?

Maybe the dinosaurs are walking the earth and meteor showers can be seen streaking past the planets.
Maybe all the humans have died out in the future and there are no big lit cities.

The Task
Illustrate a situation where the night sky is the main focus. It can be in the past, present or future. You can use your characters, our characters, natural animals/people or just do scenery. One restriction is that it must be Earths sky! only one moon, maybe put in the constallations we can see. Or you can make the view directly from space as long as it illustrates the beauty of the night sky/stars.

This contest will be hosted by and Prizes will be given by both of us.

Please i want to make this a BIG contest! It would be appreciated if you would offer up a prize for the winners!

To join send a note (if you note both of us it will only get confusing) with the title 'join Night-Sky' when you turn in your entry title it 'My Entry' or something.

The Rules
1. Must be earths sky! (see 'the task' above)
2. Any medium is accepted but please if you do photomanip dont just stick a character in a picture of the sky. put some effort into it.
3. Lineart for characters may be used since the focus is the sky.
4. Limit 2 entries person. If you do more than 2 entries please specify wich 2 you want to have judged.

DEADLINE
the deadline is currently set for august 10th (wich is a monday to give you all that extra weekend to get your entries finished if you havent by then.)

Judging
You will be judged on creativity/originality, how well you portray the idea and yes im afriad artistic ability will be judged as well but only on the overall effect of the art (not on things like 'oh that ear is bad' or anatomical type things) mostly composition will be judged.
